Ryan - you may want to re-read the part of my post that you quoted...

I was talking generally, and was certainly NOT accusing anybody involved here.

The crux of my posts here, is - quite simply - this kind of thing is best handled directly with the Moderators of a forum, in private and not shouted from the rooftops, giving folk the impression that there may be some other agenda - end of. :D

Rob,

I have posted the rules and instructions from faq's, which state that admin or the board owners should be contacted if abusive personal comments or language are used. This stops the mods from getting it in the neck from members. I asked a question " surely this means a ban is the only course of action." Given the fact his posts are under quarrantine, plus the fact that he will be given a warning by the mods for his abusive language, it is a reasonable question to ask. I am not the one saying he should be given a warning for his language. Seige has given Michael one for repeating his post with the language in it, so the same rules apply to Mark, as with the rest of us.

I have written on file sharing about complaining to admin and/or the board owners, as per the rules. I have given Mark a warning that I will do that, IF he doesn't apologies for the comments. A warning that I would make an official complaint. Not a warning that could in any way be thoiught of as trying to be a mod.

Looking for attention? Maybe you haven't read the couple of posts here where I have stated that I don't read Marks posts, so as not to be drawn into an argument which would get me attention. His post was included under someone elses name, which is why I read it.

I would like to point out that when seige said the comments didn't come from Talk Magic, I agreed that Michael was wrong to post what he did. It turns out that they were posted here, which are yet another breach in the rules from someone who needs to have his posts put in quarantine.

As for keeping the comments of the forum, Mark is the one who made the comments with verbal abuse in, ON THE FORUM. We have a right to condemn that ON THE FORUM. I have suggested people who want to make an official complaint, do so to admin or the board owner. I may be wrong, but I would presume these would need to be done OFF THE FORUM.

You have made comments about my posts on this subject ON THE FORUM. Are you then allowed to, when telling the rest of us we shouldn't and are just attention seekers? POT KETTLE

See?

You've just made my point for me, very nicely - this type of situation almost always becomes a circular ruck, with more and more folk adding their twopenneth...

...I see a large padlock descending upon this thread very soon indeed

POT? KETTLE?

....You're offering me a nice cup of tea? That's very gracious of you - I accept :D

Lads could we not just drop this arguing and talk about magic. If you have a problem speak to mod privately and try not to take things so personally.

This arguing is going round in circles, getting us no where and quite frankly its getting boring.

Imagine new users logging on and reading all this, it doesn't look to welcoming.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Nor does the origional post.

I agree with the comments though. Whilst feeling we had a right to condem that kind of post on the forum, that has now been done. If anybody wants to make a complaint, do so according to the rules and guidelines. I would ask 2 things.

Give Mark a chance to appologies to the members for the language.

Don't make the mods the target for ill feeling towards any member or post, rather, use the right channels, in the correct way.

Think I have said that enough times here now, so it is up to people to decide what they want to do, but do it by PM now.
