Really Strong Elastic???

Postby TheAlkhemist07 » Jun 7th, '07, 10:40

I need extremely strong elastic for an effect.
However the stuff i find around is not as good as I want.
Anyone know or recommend a good place to get this in the UK?

what do you want the elastic for?

A Ship's Chandler or some similar sailing shop will sell shock cord. It's a bit like thin bungee rope and is strong.

I one built a catapult and I thought strong elastic was the way to go. Instead, I ended up using surgical tubing. It's f**king strong and my catapult kicked some serious @$$!

I found it in a medical supply store, but I'm sure you could find it at a hardware store or something.

When asking for elastic I'm assuming that you don't mean IT or elastic bands?

If this is the case then try a fabric shop as they stock all sorts of elastics by the reel or yard/metre as it's used a lot in upholstery and furnishings.

Most towns will have such a shop and you can usually find them on Google or through Yellow Pages.
