I wasn't into magic very long yet and I rarely interacted live with other magicians. I don't know the usual performance styles of others, but I found a very appealing one for myself.
Yesterday evening, my high school band had a banquet that was pretty much for the graduating seniors. A farewell, if you will. It consisted of a buffet-type dinner that wasn't quite satisfying. The atmosphere was confusing since everyone was dressy, but the tables had vinyl tableclothes and plastic silverware. I was sitting around with my friends, trying to teach one of them the coin roll while doing a double myself (he can spin pens like a pro while I can't do a damn thing with 'em, so he wasn't offended or intimidated, mind you) and I accidentally dropped one of the coins. It rolled under the feet of a pretty flute player(A) whose friend (E)- after retrieving the coin for me- insisted that I do a trick. I picked up on coin in one hand- another in the other- and made one of them vanish. It was in my other hand. Jaws hit the ground. After picking up my shark dvd, I moved into a semi-silent ACR. ACR was received with astonishment- just the way Paul Harris described.
After a break from effects (the band awards were being given out) I did a billet effect using Acidus. I should have made an anchor when I correctly got the letters to her word (

It was great to perform for people who genuinely wanted to see magic instead of my skeptical friends who check my hand for palmed objects. I hope I get to work in situations like this and envy those of you who get to consistently.
I thought I'd share a positive experience in magic to bring pink and fluffy back.
