setup for the vanish was a bit to long, lots of ropositioning of the coin.
the vanish was passable.
the recovery was badly telegraphed and you looked right at the recovery point so your audience will too.

if your going to use that type of recovery, recover then produce the coin as thogh you pulled your hands apart and the coin apears between the fingers and never look were the heat is.

apart from you blatently picking the coin back up into a not so convincing kind of palm and then just putting it in your hand, it was alright, cut the video in half.
i just echoed the discoman didn't i? ah well.

and what's with putting a name to something like that? it's not really a new trick or even a routine now is it?

The vanish looked ok in my opinion but the reproduction completely gave the game away but keep practising.

"Something from Nothing?" Funny, J.B. Bobo gave it a different name in "Modern Coin Magic."

Why not call it the "Rip off of 'Messiah' which was ripped from Sankey which was ripped from Bobo to make a buck" efffect?

Mike.

Michael

As said in countless posts, you must plish your sleights before posting. This is what it is! A sleight, not an effect.

On your youtube videos also, you big yourself up to much. Instead of saying:

Michael Kras' latest magic creation. The Impossible Signed Card To Pocket.

Or

Michael Kras' brand new effect called The Ontario Sharpie is one of the cleanest vaishes in all of magic! Look for it in his new 2007 lecture notes, entitle How Bizarre, very soon!!

Just say: A card to pocket routine I perform. What do you think?

Or

A Sharpie effect. Enjoy.

...and why append every vid effect you present with, "By Michael Kras" - it immediately brings school assignments to mind:

- "My Summer vacation, by Mickael Kras"

- "My Dog's Visit to the Park, by Michael Kras"

- "Yet Another of my New Threads, by Michael Kras"

Whenever I visit the 'View Posts Since Your Last Visit' search (which I use to keep track of new stuff of interest), all I bloody see is Michael Kras...Michael Kras....Michael Kras....day, after day, after day.

This is NOT the Michael Kras Forum - it is the TalkMagic Forum - I'm sick and tired of your SPAM, Michael.

I'm likewise sick and tired of your multiple 'apologetic' posts, promising that you'll cut down, back off, or "Not Post Anything Else for a Whole Week" (that then turns out to be a day and a half).

Every now and again, you do seem to be making an effort to hold back, and then we have another, enormous splurge of Kras all over the boards.

I really think TalkMagic is (or, rather, was) a great forum, and I've made some great buddies here.

Sad to say, I'm very seriously considering leaving recently...it's becoming too much effort to work through all the junk that's appeared here over the past month or so

Like a bolt out of the blue here I come (induendo thread)

Any way Micheal Micheal Micheal. What was that? No really ? Dont get upset but the sleights need a lot of work. By keeping moving the coin like that it just adds to suspicion that there is trickery afoot.Heres the coin hmm i shall just adjust it a touch, here it is opps just move it a bit.

The taking of the coin and the showing of the hands. have youbeen involved in some sort of industrial accident? That wasnt a good step. If you are having trouble with the P*lm keep your hand in motion point or something. Dont just stand there like you have limp wrists.

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Try coming up with a cleaner retrieval of the coin, and don't be so blatant by passing the vanished coin from one hand to the other.

ALSO WHATS WITH ALL THE SOUTHING in YOUR TITLES, GETS KINNA ANNOYING....

Also got to agree with everyone else, this a sleight, which still requires a lot of work instead of an 'effect'.

Very good idea, would clean up the forums quite a bit, especially at the rate some new members are posting.

OK, a solemn promise here. And a promise from this magician means something.

I will not post here again for a whole week. I am just going to sit back and read advice. To prove this promise, I ask that if I say anything before Monday, you all totally ignore me for the rest of my time here.

Enjoy your break! :)

I wrote a massive reply on how you could improve this. Then I re-read what people had said before me, and I was just repeating them. Sssooooo LISTEN to them Michael.

These people have been doing magic for a lot longer and at an older age than you and the advice that they can give you is PRICELESS, yet you seem to ignore all advice.

Practicing a few times for 20 minutes a week is not a good way to improve. HOURS of practice a day is needed, and that's not an exageration. This is probably the best video I've seen of you, but it still needs a lot of work.

Read what magicdiscoman said, and re-read it then think about ways to practice this and then PRACTICE.

I have stuck up for you, and this post is not meant to be offending, I'm just trying to make you absorb the information given to you. One day you will be a good magician. One day can be a lot sooner if you follow advice.

And there is no point in not posting for a week. People don't mind helping if your question is a decent one. What they do mind is lots of pointless posts and lots of "Look at MY latest and greatest effect!" and "This is MY Something from Nothing effect". Yes, it is you performing, but no, it is not yours. And when people read that they think that you think you made it up, which as I'm sure you can see is annoying.

This is not me trying to offend Michael. I'm just trying to get across what I believe everyone on this forum is thinking. So keep that post count Michael. Pop on this forum every couple of days, the rest of the time you would be here, be practicing--nothing but good can happen.

Are you still reading?

I've often noticed that your palms are what you are the worst at. This video is no exception. You've got to work on the handling for coins, cards, sponge balls, and whatever else you can stick inside your hand. You've said that you palm coins all day long, but you obviously don't from your handling in this video.

I have just posted elsewhere that Michael has a one man parade in this month's Linking Ring.

Perhaps we should all take a deep breath and absorb this information before making another post. I couldn't believe my eyes when I opened the magazine today and saw his photo staring up at me.
