New to the forum

Hi all,
I'm relatively new here and you guys have provided me with much help and advice for which I am grateful, but my first impressions of this forum havn't been overly impressive, isn't it a shame that some completely pointless posts get over 4 pages of replies and those which attempt to spark up constructive discussion and provide advice rarely achieve 2 pages? perhaps we would all do well to remember that this forum is primarily for the discussion magic and related arts and not for childish feuds
The irony being this post could be seen as completely pointless :P

Not pointless at all. You're showing what newcomers think of us, and we should all be ashamed.

Thank You!

That's why we're here.

...but my first impressions of this forum havn't been overly impressive...

Because of squabbles and pointless stuff, right?

...isn't it a shame that some completely pointless posts get over 4 pages of replies and those which attempt to spark up constructive discussion and provide advice rarely achieve 2 pages?

"A shame." Yes, that is the word for it.

perhaps we would all do well to remember that this forum is primarily for the discussion magic and related arts and not for childish feuds

Unfortunately this, the same as any other forum, is made up of so many different personalities, that these feuds will break out. Adults, often, are the most childish of children. And, from time to time, they will throw their toys out of their pram.

There is history between some of the members that far predate this forum.

Scabs will be picked at. It is the human condition, whether on this forum or another, unrelated forum, or even in real life.

The irony being this post could be seen as completely pointless

By far and beyond, that was not a pointless post. It showed wisdom, because you are right.

It is a shame.

Mike.

anyway, Welcome and let's turn around the situation from the past couple of days and get back to magic, which after all is what we are here for.

sarconi, firstly welcome if I haven't said so before, and secondly that is definately one of the least pointless posts of late.

Point taken, by myself and doubtless others too.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

Sorry for writing this lame a** post, but the answer is just so good!

OT: is there a way to filter posts, e.g. so I'm not able to see someone particulars posts? Maybe something for Forum requests. Before doing it I'll have a look if it has already been dealt with. Ta
