I have recently noticed that Luke Jermay (not long ago the goldenballs of magic) has been getting a lot of bad press on other magic forums. Most of this is to do with his marketing of "exclusive" products. I then noticed that he was selling the ten card poker deal (the jonah card principle), which is an age old effect, for penguin magic. Just wondered if anyone here had any thoughts on this.
Has Jermay turned to the dark side?

No... Luke is just fulfilling some obligations where they may already exist. But like many he's getting more and more tight fisted on product. The magic community has brought on this particular scenario, forcing developers and designers to start building in a greater sense of exclusion so magic can once again be a SECRET art or Art of Secrets...

i've noticed now he's releasing more...but it seems to be ellusionist style things, as in one trick types...

luke does the billet switch
luke does the top palm
luke does etc

and his Induction dvd is supposed to be out soonish i read...

i wonder whether he sees some of this as pure bread and butter work and is going to release a building block 2 or something?

it would be a shame to see so much talent go to waste on what is basically just an endorsement type product...

I still keep hearing bad reports about Luke's customer service. There is even a thread on magicbunny where someone has said they have had to take him to court for not sending his order out.

Looks like he can't even afford to take his shirts to the cleaners either.
