Ooooppss... I think what I meant was, that £35 for 3 DVDs full of cool stuff, with just 1 trick out of umpteen, was a little over-priced.

But, I've had a think, and I think what MIGHT work using the 'method' is forget envelopes and simply use something more appealing to children... i.e. remove the psychological aspects from the trick and make it fun...

For example, why not have small boxes, gift wrapped... every time the kid picks a box, there's a 'treat' inside... the final box could contain an 'old smelly sock' or something.

Although I think this has now run off-thread, it is an inspiration that most magical concepts are quite versatile.

Although, to get back ON thread, I would stand by my original point and say that no, as far as the DVD in it's current form stands, I would say that there is nothing which would directly be relevant to a kid's show.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to argue with you, seige. My point was merely that, with a bit (or a lot) of adaptation, you could rework a bit of Andy's stuff to be suitable for a younger audience.

However, I really don't think it would be amazingly good for children and there are probably many effects that they would enjoy more.

So, over three years on, is this DVD set proving as inspirational as it was when you first reviewed it?

I've just ordered this from Alakazam (pay day today!) so I'm looking forward to spending an entertaining evening in front of the TV with Mr. Nyman, very soon. Who knows, the wife may even join me!

I was going to purchase Diceman and The Hidden separately, but their combined cost is almost as much as these DVDs, so I decided the DVDs were a better purchase. At least until next pay day....

Any way, I also bought the DVD's recently. Some criticise the delivery but I found it a slick package. The actual effects were fine, but what I really enjoyed was seeing another person's presention style. And I quite liked the tacky CD player too!

I think that you would get far more from the material on this DVD if you are a stage performer but it may give you ideas and inspiration for strolling mentalism.

Indeed. Digitally remastered in a collector's edition box set, including the necessary cards for Nyman's The Hidden effect. Nice.
