Online magic shop

Postby Seraph » Jun 12th, '07, 19:17

Can anyone suggest an online magic shop that accepts bank account transfers as a payment method?

It's just that I don't have a credit card and I really would like to buy some stuff I can't get from local shops.

I'm not sure if there is a site like that. It might be easier if you just got a credit card. If you don't want to do that, I always pay my mom and then I use her credit card to buy stuff.

Or set up a PayPal account, which lets you use your bank account to add funds.

http://www.my-magicshop.com

A magicshop in Switserland and they accept bank account transfers as payment. They have a bank account in Germany.

All costs the bank charges for these transfers are for you. I ordered there some stuff and my bank charged 8 euro (if i remember correctly) for bank transfers to other countries.

The last time I checked, you couldn't add funds from a bank account to PayPal. Says something like:

"PayPal does not currently offer the ability to add funds from your bank account."

So are you saying you have a bank account but you do not have a card to withdraw money at an ATM?

You have something like a savings account? And you havn't got a debit card nor a credit card?

Sorry if that seems like dumb question to some, I'm not a banker!

Neither am I, that's why I asked the question in the first place :)

Basically I can withdraw money and that's about all I can do. The card I have has Visa written on it, but doesn't have a security code, which I understand credit cards should have, and so I can't really order with this card.

Odd.

That's exactly the way I use PayPal, and it has been the same for some considerable time.

It's just that when I log in to my PayPal account, go to My Account - Add Funds, I get this:

"Add Funds is Not Available
PayPal does not currently offer the ability to add funds from your bank account.

When you make a payment, PayPal charges the buyer's credit card and instantly credits the seller's PayPal account."

So I'm really stomped. I can't imagine I'm doing something wrong here...

You must REGISTER and VALIDATE a bank account. This is done by PayPal adding two small amounts to your bank account, which can take up to 7 days.

This is precisely what I do with PayPal. Not sure what the problem is...

If you mean verification, doesn't that require a credit card?

No.

They verify your bank account by adding two small amounts of money.

Later, you check your bank statement, and let PayPal know the two amounts. From this info, they determine you are good to go, and then you can use your bank account to top up your paypal account.

It's really very simple (even Mrs Seige did it!)

International bank transfers are exceptionally expensive.
