I forgot about OOTW - such a great effect that fries more than a chip shop

Anway, I noted that Monker listed Double Triumph. I've only recenly got around to learning Triumph which is one of my favourites at the moment. COuld someone explain what the difference is between the standard Triump and the 'double'

Thanks in anticipation.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Coin Unique

I do a few effects with it... but the main one is where i will place a penny under someones glass, can, bottle or in someones pocket(without them knowing). I vanish the penny by heating the two coins with a lighter until they 'melt' everyone is amazed and then floored when the penny is in their pocket!

Double Triumph is basically what it sounds like. It is the triumph effect but you can locate two cards at once. It's good if you have a couple of specs and you don't want to perform Triumph twice. Also, in theory, you could perform Double Triumph with several cards. Say perhaps three or four. Double Triumph also has a different handling than Triumph (obviously) to maintain the two chosen cards separate.

Thanks for the response

I thing that I prefer the version that I've learnt which is from the David Forrest Trickery DVD.

Always nice to know though

I have to add a sixth for myself. Using Wonder Words concepts ("Did you decide to stop there for any particular reason?") and Luke Jermay's Burst Bubble suggestion, I made some peoples' impulses skip a few nodes. It was kinda funny. Today in art class, one person was influenced by suggestions so easily, she felt a tingling sensation when my hand was still a good 5 inches above hers. She insisted that she felt something. I did a gimmickless "For Andruzzi" with her as the pulse taker as well.

Currently Reading "House of Mystery" (Abbott, Teller), Tarbell, Everything I can on busking

1) The Biddle Trick
2) Jumping Gemini
3) AC routine
4) Dr. Daley's Last Trick
5) Jokers Wild

90% of the tricks i do are completely impromptu... the rest require minor set up that i usually do right in front of the spectators and they miss it some how...

I reappear the coin using flash paper. Looks impressive.

I was wondering if anyone one else finds this too; I find it ironic that I can spend hours and days learning complicated routines but the best reaction I get to this day from a layman is always from tricks which are easier from a technical perspective and stuff I learnt a long time ago. So here goes, my top five;

1. Out of this world- I can't stress enough how great a reaction one can get from this with an imaginative presentation. I know it's boring to us who know the secret, but never confuse a laymans reaction to a magician's- this effect can be 'real magic' in my opinion.

2. Salt vanish and re-appearance with a TT.

3. 10p through bottle/ beer top through bottle using PK ring. (so love these 2 effects!)

4. Using an Boris(or equivalent) deck doing a whole mind reading routine Derren Brown style with a spectator's chosen card.

5. Haunted deck/floating ring( borrowed from spectator.

Interested in feedback from you guys regarding the above 5!

Thanks,

Simon

Based on spectator reactions...

1. Blizzard
2. Entourage
3. Kioku
4. Kioku
5. Strange Travellers

Yes, I only have four on my list; but Kioku is so gobsmackingly miraculous, it takes up two spaces. :D
