The Cobra Sharpie

Postby MagicBill » Jun 12th, '07, 23:13

Hi one and all!

Has anyone seen this in action/ordered one/got one/thinking of getting one?

http://www.alakazam.co.uk/acatalog/Hot_List_1.html#a978

A bit steep in price, but does sound good.

What do you all think? Thanks!!

It doesn’t actually say what it does for your £150 squid

The method is a slap-in-the-face-very-clever.

BUT i really don't think the price justifies it

Alakazam demonstrated this at Tabula Mentis last Saturday. I've just seen one on sale at World of Magic for £289.25!!!!! ( http://www.world-of-magic.co.uk/Cobra_S ... i21258.asp )

I decided to price up the parts for one. Now, unless I've missed some clever piece of gaffing, then including a rechargeable batter and a Sharpie, the parts are available for less than a tenner. The principle is electric not "electronic", by the way.

If someone has a Cobra Sharpie and can demonstrate that it's far more clever than I believe, I'll gladly delete this and sing its praises, but at the moment it screams "rip off!".

What a pointless little film. 38 seconds of titles and then some fancy graphics that shows a battery going into a pen and a quotation by one of Alakazam's employees.

Visually impressive, though. Wish I had the time to make films again.
