A Little Grater

Postby Michael Kras » Jun 11th, '07, 21:07

Heloo,

I recently became OBSESSED with The Little Grater magician's gag, since receiving it yesterday as a birthday gift. I used it all day today, using the same line: "If you thought that was great, here's something.... a little grater!"

I want to use this as a running gag, but to keep it from getting boring, I want a bunch of different lines for it. I figurev it may even get funnier that way.

So, does anyone have any good "grater lines"?

Thank you!

Michael Kras

That's a coincidence as I heard that Stevie Wonder got a grater for his birthday too, although it was a gold plated one of course (due to his celebrity status).

He said that it was the best book that he ever read

say cheese and i 'll take your picture, use grater as camera then realise that its not a camera its a grater.

this item shows I'm a much grater magician than you.

have a spec hold out both hands and say which is grater this sponge ball or this.

without a pic or description I'm asuming its a little cheese grater.

Firstly - I feel that we should mention (and thank) Peter Marucci in this thread as the "little grater" line is his. First published in Linking Ring (I think).

Secondly - my advice would be to use the one line and quickly move along to the next effect. It is funny because it is a throw away line. To try and get any more mileage out of it would be (in my most humblest of opinions) a mistake.

(having said that I have to confess the Stevie WOnder joke made me smile)

I don't find that Steve Wonder gag funny at all. I'm deaf in one ear and hate people making fun of me for it so i don't find disability jokes funny in the slightest
