Postby Tigerboy » Jun 13th, '07, 16:39

Ive learned this flourish and im absolutly in love with it but im having trouble findin ways of using it. Also i cant always make it fly that high and ive been practising it for a while . (Ive learned this cut from born to perform by oz pearlman) I was just wondering if uve got any tips or ways of intergrating it into a trick. :D Thanks in advance

Check out- Still Fancy a Pot of Jam by James Brown

It uses the hot shot cut for the card opener routine, its a brilliant mini routine. It is now my favourite "show me a trick" opener. Its fast flowing, visual and grips the audience.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

Although I like the card opener, I feel that the anticlimax of the wrong card from the hot shot is too much. It's like "wow, you can shoot out "any" card from the deck"
If it happened after the specs had already seen you do a succesful hot shot, then I think it would be ok, but as it's an opener, I find it doesn't show the full amazement of the cut. I mean it's just "any" card and not the chosen one.

...and it also encourages young ladies to reach into your trouser pockets; there's really an awful lot to be said for the routine :D

I know what you mean, I actually catch the right card firstly. Then do the TC before placing the the into the deck. After that I'll show another card and have it turned into the original card using the shapeshifter. Its only then do I TC and have the card change in their hands and ask the spec to check the deck for the card. Its case now of where can the card be, must be in my pocket and as Rob kindly pointing out, have a nice lady locate the card.

I've just put two videos in the Hotshot thread in Filesharing. One is just the hotshot cut and the other is a basic use for it. Hope they help.

All the best,
