FLAME FLAME FLAME!

Only joking! :)

I agree wholeheartedly with ^ everything you say!

I think you've echoed my own opinions here, especially the 'wooden' Lazenby and the 'over-serious' Dalton.

Bond, to me, is all about innuendo, cliche, sexy, gadgets and fun. Oh, and there's something about spies and goodies and baddies in there too, somewhere ;)

Right on the button! When Fleming mentioned Connery as being his ideal Bond he was referring to the other suggested movie choices at the time which included David Niven amongst others. Fleming always said that Bond looked like Hoagy Carmichael and the visual similarity to Connery as Bond is very strong. I'm warming to Brosnan a lot as I think his portrayal has helped in a big way to bring the films back on course and into the big league again.

Guns, Grappling, Gadgets, Gizmos, Girls - what more could anyone ask for?!

Err... Gorillas?

Well, it's got a 'G' at the start of it, and they ARE quite cool in movies...

I think?

Goons - to describe the ever essential henchmen attending the main villain?

(I think we've started another weird thread here!)

mike myers would make a good bond, he was good in goldmember.
and he can act seriously when needed, but i would agree brosnen is a bond in the makeing for the throw away generation, more and conery had an easyier time of it realy because in there time people were not so jaded by special effects and apathetic to gadgets, even a mobile phone was relativly new.
the next bond will have there work cut out stiring the stumps of this generation were everything is avalable to them if they could be bothered to get off the couch for one second.

I didn't like the last one much either, the cars were cool but the terrible CGI stuff (particularly the surfing bit) put me, off, much better had been done previously so they obviously just didn't put the effort in.

I think this was inspired by the baddies in Bond (well probably a whole load of other movies, but alot fits with the Bond Baddies)
