Postby Timo » Jun 15th, '07, 00:55

Hi

I know a few really simple card tricks, but would really like to learn more magic. I can juggle and would like to learn magic, too. The problem is I have know idea where to start.

A good place to start is to work on your card magic. Change your simple card tricks into amazing miracles. A good place to start with that is Royal Road to Card magic. Get that book and your on your way to a better experience with magic. Good Luck.

would it be worth it to save like $2 and get the modern coin magic book with it, in a package deal?

Coin and card magic is good to start since they can be simple at start and not very dangerous. Once you've got more and more experience, large illusions could be a possibilty. The book for $2 is good but I got mine for free.

Hi Timo, welcome to TM.

It's always worth looking at Mark Wilson's Complete Course, he covers cards, coins and lots of other different areas of magic too.

Hey and welcome to TM.

Royal road is a great read, it'll turn you from a guy who can do a couple of tricks to someone with really good card skills if studied correctly.

You might also want to try Karl Fulves self working books, they can be good to get you of to a quick start in different areas of magic, help build your confidence, learn about patter etc.

Can anybody please help me? I'm having terrible problems controlling my streetmagic- I can't walk down a street without turning into a pub.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hi and welcome to TM, you should enjoy your stay.

On the where to start front, I've only started recently but I'm finding the Royal Road to Card Magic really useful as said above, but it is just on card magic, other than that I can't help you.

Hi and welcome.
Modern Coin Magic is a definite buy. It's coins, yes, but the principles you will learn from it can be applied to much wider scope of magic.
