Those Cards..

Postby Mr Ben » Jun 20th, '07, 20:20

Hey,
I was looking at the buck twins doing some flourishes in a trailer of theirs, and I noticed that they tend to favour this odd deck.
It is hard to explain, but it comes in blue back and red back (Although they mostly use blue) and it has what looks like some type of 'wing' or a 'see-saw' as part of the pattern.

I am sorry that I can not describe it in more detail; but I was just wondering - are these cards for sale?

I'm going to feel a bit silly if they're just as common as Tally's

Thanks in advance,

Mr Ben

I think you're describing Jerry's Nugget cards. They're very rare and expensive. Dan and Dave buck use them a ton and I think they were popularized by Dai Vernon's video set.

A deck can cost you an average of $100 I think. IMHO, they look c*** (not the best).

They stopped making them now though, they used to cost $50

Oh dear

That doesn't sound good - I think I'll stick to some good old bikes.

I like to add a lot of 'flare' and style to my tricks ( a personality thing ) and I would like to hear your opinion on cards.
What cards do you think I should use for gambling techniques?
What cards (In your opinion) 'feel' the best to work with?
What cards do you like, in terms of artistic view? (Patterns etc)

I've got some C.U.P.S towards buying cards

Gambling is best done with some Bees with no border. Hides those fake shuffles and deals.

The cards that feel best for me are Bikes or the Masters. I have tried others, but I don't feel comfortable performing with them, I don't know why.

Others cards I like the look of are the custom decks at E (they do look good!). Some of the E decks can be bough in England at www.cards4magic.co.uk but are naturally more expensive so if you are looking to perform regularly with them, be prepared to pay more :P
