Southport Convention 2007 , what to see and what not

Postby Card-Shark » Jun 17th, '07, 11:31

Hi everybody,

I would like to go the the Southport Convention in September. But I was surprised how long this convention will be (12. - 16.).

As I will have to reduce my visit to a 3 day maximum and cannot find any information about the programme there I would like to hear your recommondation when I should be there and what I could drop.

Thanks for all additional information about Southport Convention.

Christian

Please provide me some more information about this event. Thanks

Hi Card Shark.

Good to hear from you again. We met at Blackpool and I am still having a lot of fun with your Mona Lisa's Secret, effect

Details of the IBM convention at SOuthport this year can be found at...

As usual with the IBM convention it looks like they have an excellent line up. It is unlikely though that I will be able to make that one.

If you are looking for a really good one day UK convention, and a chance to meet up with old friends, then I can recommend the Ipswich Magical Society Convention scheduled for Sunday October 21st. I can't tell you the complete line up just yet as I am still finalising a few details but I should be able to announce it soon. It's going to be a good one. We had quite a few people from here turn up last year...

Hi Simon,

nice to hear from you again.
As I will have to calculate which convention I can afford and which not I decided to go to Southport in September and to the International Magic Convention in London in November.

In London I will be there as a dealer, my first international convention! ;)
So I am very excited about that. And as I plan several new things it will be worth visiting me there...

The information about Southport is really very - hmmm - how should I say... less. Nothing to read about, when wich performer will do a lecture and so on. So I have to decide out of the blue which days I want to attend.
Sh...

Being new to the world of magic, I wasn't sure weather to go to Southport or to hang on until February for Blackpool.

Won't be able to go to both sadly.

Does anyone have any recommendations on which one is more worthwhile a visit?

They are both excellent conventions. My personal favourite is Blackpool though. Last year we had quite a crowd from TM.
