Nearly finished reading this now and I have to say it is very good.

It covers all the ground and makes it specific to the mentalist. I have seen many of the ideas in other NLP and related books, but this book is dedicated to how theses techniques would be used by mentalists and to great effect.

I was reading Pease and Pease Body Language last night where many of the same ideas were included in a more general way. Pease and Pease also take a crack at readers, but it is pretty thin treatment and along similar lines to Ian Roland's stance.

Sleight of Mind is an excellent resource. You can also spend hours sitting in public practicing their tips while watching people. I also like the visualisation exercises.

It's a great book. Your performances will improve no end if you take on board an utilise what this book teaches you.
As Markdini so rightfully pointed out, a bit of a background in hypnosis techniques an suggestion will greatly help your understanding of the goodies contained in this worthy volume.

Does anybody know anywhere that has this in stock? Since making the decision that I would like to buy this (based on the comments here) I have been thwarted by being unable to find it anywhere! :(

It was about £30 on Amazon, Also, as much as don't feel like recommending them, www.magicshop.co.uk also stock it and the follow-up Geist.
If you have no luck with Amazon, give them a try.

Amazon are quoting a 4-6 week delivery period. Magicshop was where I ordered from originally, but they are out of stock and can't give me a time when they will restock.

May just have to bite the bullet and wait the 4-6 weeks.

Thanks for your help.

Well, at least you've got it cheaper mate. It cost me £29.99 from Amazon.
Worth every penny though.
I've heard mixed reports about Geist, that it's more bizarre magick type stuff and not much suggestion.

Not sure whether it fits in with the suggestion based stuff (which I have no trouble presenting) but I have been told by a few people that Geist is a bit of a disappointment after SOM.

The great thing about SOM, is that is gives you some useful stuff that you can add to existing effects or routines and the impact it has on the spec, and their reaction, does improve when done correctly.

I've been wanting this for ages and I've finally decided to get it. Just hope I don't have to wait another month for it to arrive.
