Masks

Postby Beardy » Jun 21st, '07, 11:52

Hey guys and gals

I've always enjoyed watching people use manipulation and magic with masks - including Jeff McBride, and many others

I just dunno whether there is a source to learn it all? I really enjoy watching it...it really can cut you deep depending on your emotional state at the time

Dunno if anybody out there has even a remote idea to be able to start?

cheers guys!

Love

Chris

There was a thread a while ago where someone was asking a similar question. I don't think much came of it though, same as this thread.
One thing I remember from it was that Jeff Mcbride doesn't market any of his mask stuff and keeps it as his signature effect.

On Pen and Tellers Mystery Magic Tour dvd, they meet a guy who does this trick (the quick change masks routine). Its an ancient one and the performers make their own masks so that noone else finds out the secret. I dont think it would be availible to buy for that reason

Hi Beard

I was in Mike Danata's the other day and noted that he had a number of Jeff McBride DVDs in stock. Whilst I don't know the content there may be a mask routine on one of them.

It may be worthwhile emailing Mike to ask

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
