It's not his age that people have a problem with - it's his 'look at me, aren't I wonderful, bow down to my genius' attitude that riles people.

A novice asking for advice is one thing, a kid boasting to professional people that he's better than they are (or implies that) is just plain irritating.
If he was as busy with bookings as he claimed, he wouldn't have to come on here (and every other magic foum) vying for attention all the time.

In all honesty Michael, I think the above comments are being to kind.
Forget about the bloody website, forget about gigs, forget about the super amazing magic for 7 years

Work on your performance. Go in to the streets and perform. That's were you will learn. Practice in restaurants as well, but if you really want to improve you take it to the streets, and try to perform to the horriblist people you can find. If you can perform to them, and get good reactions, then your on the right track. Just try and get rid of the ego and professionalism, there is no professionlism what so ever.

Just tone it all down a bit. The best thing I've seen you perform is your excellent technique in turning your webcam off.

I've worked with Mark Leveridge (cough, cough, kind of) and i've taught... sorry... "Lectured" a Mr Marc Oberon.

I'm not overly talented :(

(ha ha, i should add in that Paul Daniels described me as "A man who does magic")

The Stoplight Factory: Michael recounts an interesting story about how he used to make stoplights for the city, and was fired because of faulty equipment, which he just "happened" to bring along to the show. A hilarious routine filled with audience participation!

I assume you didn't qualify for Long Service Leave at the Stoplight Factory? I realise it's a JOKE... but making the story more plausable can often make the subsequent effect more powerful. just a thought.

I actually took the time to look at the website and it's hideous for more reasons that I can say. One thing that particularly struck me was the use of the title which contained the words:

upload,lyrics,create,video,links,free,your

In what sense do these terms relate to you?

You know what, I'd really like to see a video on the site. Especially if you were such a popular participant (as opposed to winner) in the close up magic competition.

Let's face it. If you got a booking based on that website a number of things would happen.

1) I'd be gobsmacked
unless
2) the client was hugely gullible
and in either case
3) there would be huge expectations
and thus
4) you'd c*** (not the best) yourself

Do you really want a booking for a corporate event where your reputation is at stake? Can you just imagine how damaging that would be? You'd never work in that town again!

micheal,

another bit of constructive crit from me, dont worry, i wont slander you.

you wrote:

Michael was bitten by the magic bug at the ripe age of six, and began doing magic as a hobby. fine

Four years later, Michael discovered a magic shop in his city. it took you 4 years after you started to realise you had a local magic shop?

It was at that shop that Michael bought his first magic effect, so you bought your first magic effect four years after you started?

what you are saying is that you bought your first magic trick at the age of ten, you are now 14 so that leads me to believe that you have just over 3 years of experiance, as a magician i know that most people waste their first year or so buying gimmicks and not learning the basics, (i know not all but in my experiance its alot) so that takes it down to 2 years magic experiance

there seem to be some annomilies in your "timeline" so have a rethink with that part.

Hope that helps

Thank you to everyone for your advice! It is truly appreciated! Can't you all see I don't have an ego anymore? You taught me well, so take time to actually look at the results, The New Michael.
