I never was too fond with Jeff McBride's Mask routines but this was quite amazing. Again, not really because of the mask routine but I really liked the mime work. The parts where he's just spinning his arms about, I wasn't really too sure what it was about and wasn't really entertained much.

I've seen that before. I didn't enjoy it then and I don't enjoy it now. Don't know why. What is he meant to be doing? Is there a hidden story I'm missing because it just looked like some bloke dancing around ripping of various masks.

I have always been a fan of his mask work, and this is one of my favourite pieces that I ahve seen him perform. I just like the "story"" to it.

Guess it might be to certain tastes, but I love it

I actually find this act a little bit scary. Very good though. I love the opening song!

It didn't do much for me, i felt that there was far to much prancing around, and the miming, (for me) just wasn't all that entertaing.

I wouldn't call this magic.

I got bored and turned it off. I was personally never a fan of that 80's stle stage magic with all that spandex and dancing around.
Often the illusion performed is sound but the cheesy soundtrack, miming, dancing and tableau just makes me cringe.

As said above it is all down to personal taste. Some may not know this but Jeff Mc Bride is slightly more well known and successful thatn me so he must be doing something right

I'll see if I can find some footage for you all, but AYALA "The Man of 1,000 Faces" is who you want to watch. He is the original and as he has stated in the past "I do masks because I'm good, McBride does it because he's ugly and needs to cover his face..."

... the joys of professional jealousies

Arturo Brachetti used to be good at this sort of thing - costume as well as mask changes. Check out http://www.brachetti.com/

Arturo is an absolutely brilliant performer. Going by his website it looks as if he has greatly added to his repertoire since I last saw him perform.

This has probably become my new favourite act. Loved the mime, the acting, and the costumes, and the MASKS! God they're so stunning! Fear, mystery, and all that... I thought it was absolutely brilliant theatre. This is how i'd like MY magic to be in the future.

Well, part of it :)

Wow.

I'm not sure if I love it or if I hate it.

The mimicry was cool, the masks were interesting, the magic was so-so. I'm sure if I saw some other performances by him I would like him. I'm just not sure if I like that routine.
