Are all our friends from Sheffield, Chesire etc. safe and well following the recent downpours? I know we have quite a few members from that area and hoepfully you guys aren't too affected.

It looks rather nasty on the old goggle box.

Keep well

Best

It's all good on the Merseyside area, which is close to Chester etc.

I don't think the rain has been that bad over here to be honest :?

It rained constantly today here in Costa Del Burnley, Lancs. It didn't stop 'til 3pm - 4pm ish :? .

Hopefully I'll be able to get out tomorrow and get some work done (I'm a window cleaner  ).

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

10 mile detour to work, roads unpassable, Powys/Shropshire border.

Major flooding, trees down, and the hill where we live had roads which looked more like flowing rivers this morning

:O

I saw a Vauxhall Nova driven by some chavs get stuck in a 6 inch puddle this morning. Its not even that bad here.

Hope everyone is ok if its bad where you are. And if you are one of those chavs stuck in the puddle, sorry for pointing..... and laughing..... and for splashing you slightly when i drove past....

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

Sheffield is indeed the epicentre of this deluge. And this following the fire at the legendry Gatecrasher nightclub. It seems that we are having some kind of Biblical judgement being passed on us.

I however am fine. Biblical judgements hold no fear for me - I made a deal concerning all this with ol' Nick a long time ago.

I was due to be transferring my caravan from Sheffield to Ipswich today, but having scouted out city centre decided it wasn't such a good idea... Decided to stay in the dry and warm of a mate's house instead of venturing out, but I am reliably informed that the pub at the bottom of my road is 5ft under water. Some of my mates got a bit stuck out in it, and they keep showing 'The Harlequin' (a pub I've done a few gigs in) on BBC News 24!

Yes, I know the area well. Have driven past the Harlequin a few times and wondered how well or otherwise it's been doing. I suppose now it'll be a case of claiming the insurance money and giving it a good re-furb. It's amazing to see that volume of water on what is normally a busy dual carriageway.

So bizarre seeing your home city on the news like that - and annoying, in a way - I'm at uni in Leeds and whenever I've just gone to uni or gone home to Sheffield, something exciting happens in the other place! Last time it was terrorists in Leeds.

Meadowhall though - if that isn't judgement, I don't know what is! Same with Gatecrasher. All Sheffielders, stay out of your local den of iniquity and you'll be fine :D What with it being Sheffied, I suppose we have no idea where will be struck next...

On a serious note, how sad to hear about the people killed. Someone says it every time - you just don't expect these things to happen on your doorstep.

Glad to hear some of you are ok and haven't been too badly affected.

I agree, it is so bizarre.

Fortunately we've been lucky in the South East, and Magicdiscoman no hosepipe ban for us!.

Let's hope things settle down quickly although it was said on the BBC yesterday that there might be a little more to come :(

Well i had to walk from rotherham to a mates house in burngreave (about 5 or 6 miles) in a complete deluge. underpasses completely flooded, roads closed, no buses. i had a heroic moment that afternoon though when i used the van i was driving for work to push some poor blokes car that had got stuck. he was whimpering "please help me. I'm stuck and there's water coming in."
i left work at 4:45 yesterday afternoon and got home at 9:30 this morning. had to give up on work after it took 2 hours to drive about a mile and a half through rotherham just to get turned round and sent back.

I live in Hull

Guess what?

Water, water, everywhere

We didn't have it as bad as it was several streets away though, which is a bit of a blessing.

I'm on Merseyside too, on Wirral to be precise, we have had a lot of rain, nothing like the rest of the country, and some big puddles.

Have you heard about the reservoir dam that has started cracking???!!!

I hope you are all safe and well, wherever you are x
