Just thought I'd ask about the member's lounge - what is it and how does one get in? Does it have any connection with the member status under you avatar?

The Lounge is an area where we can just yak about anything non-magical and the intention was to use it so the main Forum was kept clear of irrelevancies. You can see how successful that was! Access is by invite and is usually based on length of membership, number of postings, quality of posts etc. Hang in there for a while!

The member's lounge is a kind of intimate area of the forum. It is very different to the Magician's Only area, in that the Lounge is a place to kick off your shoes, relax, and be a bit more open.

It's invitation only, and was started to originally alleviate the main board from 'friendly non-magic banter'.

Members of the lounge generally share interests in magic, similar sense of humour, and are all like-minded, well mannered, and totally insane.

Fear not, those of you who are Members of the Restricted Area may NOT be members of the Lounge. It's at our discretion.

To get in?

Be yourself. If you fit, you'll be invited.

Otherwise, if you're not in there, there's nothing that would interest you there, anyway.

Ah so it's nicely padded with special white coats being the dress code

its full of mythical ardvarks and colour changing fish and transindental snails, nothing of any real interest at all.
theres a nice view onto the gardens and pond and the drinks are all free, the chairs are all comftable and the carpet cleeens itself, try not to disturb the dust to my she can get quite narked you know.
so you see nothing of any interest no magical secrets divulged just your regular magical bar.
