You must have skinny little girly-fingers.
Besides, I don't think anyone is going to be looking at your ring from about 2 inches away, mine looks natural on me.
But I'm special.
I never leave mine on all the time, I slip it on when I need to use it.
Nobody notices and mine is still in as new condition.

I have this ring and often wear it on nights out instead of the wedding ring. The only trick I do with this is stopping people's watches. Is anybody else doing anything other than this ? I just can't think of any killer routines. Spinning a knife on a bottle seems to give a big clue as to the gimmick so surely there are other effects that can be achieved with this wonderful ring ?

Coin in bottle!

Postby aceberserker » Apr 25th, '07, 07:09

I agree, some tricks can give this away, best left alone are those ones.
One of the tricks I love to perform is "coin in't bottle."
I use 2 coins, but you can opt for one. With two coins it's more visual.
First I will ask for a 1p coin, then I will remove the lid from bot and ask spectaties to examine the bot and lid. Whilst they do this I will check that coin is magnetic cos all aren't, if not I will use the one I have ready.
Then I will have them sign the coin and put it in't bot and screw lid on.
I will ask if the coin can pass from the bot with lid still on, "NO!" they shout.
Then I will remove lid, pass it to a spec and pretend to tip coin out, but it will stick to ring hid behind my hand, sometimes it don't stick, so I just put it back in and say "it is the same coin you signed, or something like that.
When it stick, hidden by my hand, I ask the spec to screw me, I mean to screw the lid back on.
I hold the bot at an angle they will find impossible to see the coin.
At this stage I am ready to go as I already have the other coin in't my hand.
I hold the coin so as to only show the edge, that way they won't see that it ain't the signed coin, then I slam the coin on't bot, pulling my other hand slightly away from bot, this makes the coin fall to the bottom of bot.
As I shake the bot the other coin slips in't pocket.
Practice this and it will be a winner.
It really does get a great reaction, especially when you give the spec the bot, ask them to remove the coin and examine their signed coin.

I have to say, concerning the PK ring, I received some of the best service from a magic dealer thanks to World Magic Shop who happily replaced my original ring for one of the new ones with a different coating.
(The original ones caused allergies in some people - including myself)

This kind of service makes me a loyal customer as you know you can buy with confidence from an honest dealer. What a gent!

PK Rings

Postby Partypaul2007 » Jun 17th, '07, 09:40

Interesitng to see the difference of opinions on this subject. I'm awaiting a call regarding stock of one of the G2 rings, although I'm takning what everyone is saying into consideration and am less certain now.
Perhaps someone can answer me this question:
I am married and have a white gold wedding ring. It has what they call a "hammered" finish to it, in that it is slightly mottled and dull. I would like to take my new PK ring to a jewler and have them apply the same effect, however people seem to be sugesting that it wouldn't survive as it's qiute brittle. Could this be done with a G2? Is there a stronger/bette ring availble?

2 notes for you before I get a few expected replies:

1: Why? because I only perform for friends and family, they know I don't like jewellry, and they all really like the way my ring looks, so they would notice a different ring in a flash.

2: I appreciate that this is actually a question more suited to a jewler, but I thought I'd check here first.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

As such rings are all made from a powder which is then solidified they are all prone to the same fragility so unless you could find a manufacturer who would mould one as a replica you're likely to be out of luck.

The PK ring makes a lot of effects so much easier to perform.
I use it more as a utility device but can't resist making the cutlery move in reataurants!

I've been using mine in my chop cup/cups & balls routines. It's added some pretty good convincers to them.
