Name that Trick :)

Postby Magical_Trevor » Jun 28th, '07, 11:29

Hey guys, I have invented my own trick (well, as far as I'm aware...if this isan already existing trick, and someone knows the name, then I'd be more than happy to change this post / give the original creator the credit for this trick)

Obviously I'm not gong to reveal the trick - I'm looking for a cool name for it, hoping you guys can help me

The Trick:

I pull out 2 decks of cards, red and blue and ask a spectator to select a pack to use for the trick. (eg, they selectd red). I show the blue deck, out of the box showing they are all blue cards, shuffle then lace back in the box. I then get a spectator to hold onto the blue box.

Ithen open the red backeddeck, and explain how magicians often cheat when making a spectator choose a card - to proove that I'm not going to cheat, I allow them to select ANY card they want. they turn it over, to show everyone (including me) then, place it anywhere in the deck, face up - stopping next to any card, which me nor they have even seen yet.
I turn the deck over, and find their card (turned the wrong way up) and see the card next to it, the card they stopped next to randomly, without even seeing. With some patter I then reveal that the card they stoppednext to is different - as its got a BLUE back :-O

THEN I turn to the spectator holding the blue deck and ask them to open the bue box - they fan through and 1 card if turned the wrong way...its their card :-O AND its got a red back.

I made this up about a month ago, and the responce has been AMAZING, I just dont have a name... PLEASE HELP ME

I'd quite simply call it 'been done before' or 'sounds familiar' I'm afraid.

ok, well, not really been helped that much, lol, but its cool - might try to add to the effect - I like the idea of a sealed deck, could buy some of those deck sickers :)

I've looked at some websites and will most probobly be purchasing RRTCM sometime soon :)

I'll keep you guys posted about the name :D

Or you could open the deck from the bottom rather than removing the sticker?
