Face Paints

Postby Beardy » Jul 4th, '07, 18:32

heys guys, any help here is very much appreciated. I need some face paints that can wipe off in a matter of seconds - i dont need them on too long, but need to be able to wipe them off on stage very quickly.

similar to the starts of this video, where Jeff wipes the paints off of his face:

any help here, or even some ideas, shall be very useful, tis kinda important

:D

Create a thin plastic film mask and paint on that beforehand. No need to actually wipe the paint off, just use a cloth and remove the film in one go.

im not exactly an arty farty type :P

any idea what kind of film to use, and where to get it? also, will it look authentic while on the face, will it stay on, and when it gets painted, i would assume that it is painted while on me face?

;)

haha - sorry for all the questions, but I need to get this right lol

cheers in advance sir!

Something like thick clingfilm or the plastic used to protect perspex sheets can probably be applied to your face and held in place if you spread some vaseline on your skin first. An arty type would have to paint it for you when in place but unless you need an elaborate job, just broad strokes of colour etc would look convincing enough perhaps?

No reason why not but greasepaint might be better as it's less solid and easier to spread. For the life of me I can't bring the name to mind right now but don't we have a member who went on UK's got Talent doing face painting?

I think theatrical greecepaint will work far better than water-based facepaints if yoou decide to go down that road. Water based facepaints like Snazaroo, Grimas ect dry on your face and are hard to wipe off without water

had a chat with him and a few others and they recomended snazaroo, though use a wet towel as it look like McBride did.

No harm in trying? I'll give that a go eh? only a couple of quid
