anybody make money from street magic???

Postby jamesb » Jul 6th, '07, 03:02

Hola, Bonjour, Hello,

I was wondering have any of you ever performed on the streets, i dont mean like david blaine street magic, i mean traditional street magic, like gathering a crowd and doing your routine and collecting tips at the end.

Something like a cups and balls routine (for example).

I know if your a good performer you can gather the crowd and entertain them.

But my question is, do people in the UK cough up, or do they just walk away.

Right now i guess this is a trial and error thing, and i will have to get out there and experience for myself.

But please if you have any experiences to share, please feel free to share them.

J

You mean BUSKING. Yes many people I know make money off this side of magic. I myself have taken part in it.

well thats good to know, i am looking around for routines and tricks that would suit well for that kind of performance, as i plan on taking a 5 day chill out break to the sea side in a few weeks, might get abit of performing done just to see how it goes , depending on the weather and flow of people of course

any trick / routine ideas?

obvious one would be a good cups and balls routine, anybody know any more?

From what I ahve seen and read, I feel your not ready for busking.... Heck you didnt even know the name of it.

Busking it not simple... it takes a lot of crowd control.

Look into people like- Kozmo, Don Driver, Gazzo.
They have books and dvds on the subject.
