Rip apart change bag problem

Postby Miles More Magic » Jul 6th, '07, 11:18

I'm not sure if that is the correct name, but it is a flat change bag with velcro strips on the sides. The idea is at the end of the routine you pull the change bag apart and the silk "jumps" into the air.

I have two problems. (Yes, I know I have more, I'm talking about the change bag though. )

Unlike the "collection bag" type of change bag, I find the flaps sag (OH MATRON! ) when I hold the bag open. I can't seem to get the handling right to prevent this. I could hold it just above eye height, but that defeats the object in my opinion.

The other problem I have is that I can't get the silk to jump, so it sits there looking a bit pathetic.

I haven't used this in shows yet, as I know it isn't right. Any advice you can give me would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

thease don't realy do the job there better for rip apart vanishes, as for sagging the adition of a double sided press stud can help a lot.
some people have added a bit of fishing line, top tp bottom so as bag is ripped it gives the silk a little kick, others have sewn a piece of elastic edge to edge so that when pulled it gives the bag a trampolene effect.
some of the more expensive bags have this already.
