I was working tonight, performing a psychic show at a private club. There were around 100 people in the very intimate room. This wasn't supposed to be magic show, but a genuine display of psychic phenomena.

I had a volunteer seated in fron of me, and had asked her to mentally select a card and then find that card in the deck that I handed her. As she was finding the card I explained that the reason for using cards was because everyone knew and understood them and it gave the volunteer something to focus on. I explained that if I'd asked her to simply think of something, anything, at random she wouldn't be able to sustain enough concentration before her mind began to wander and she began to think about what was happening at the bar or whether or not that was her phone that had started to ring...

The instant after I said "was that her phone that had started to ring", the volunteers phone started to ring. The room first gasped as one, then burst into applause. I of course milked it for all it was worth. As convincers go, it was a goodie.

These things are happening more and more to me. I must be getting even more psychic.

Plus I got fed at the wedding I worked at before hand. Bonus! What a great day.
