Hi All,
Thought I'd introduce myself. The names Dan, I've had a 3-4 year break from magic as it was getting to the point where people were actually afraid to come near me incase I did something strange to them hahaha. I got horribly obssesed to the point where I talked about nothing else, great in the company of magicians, not so with laymen. My main areas of interest are Close up and mentalism, I love impromptu stuff but also enjoy the benefits of using gimmicks.
I made a documentary about magic which was featured at various film festivals around the UK and included exclusive footage from inside the magic circles HQ in London and an interview with Brad Christian from Ellusionist.com. I also wrote a dissertation on the history of magic through the 18th century. I really enjoy creating my own effects by intertwining other effects and adding my own twist, but hey, thats what it's all about right? I still have all my old props as I couldn't bear to part with them.
Just looking to start discussing magic again in the hope of reigniting my passion. I know a few mean effects that I'm willing to share with the right people!

Hi and welcome, I think there are several here who will understand the obsession with magic!

Good, well at least I know I'm in good company, hopefully my obsession will return in all it's glory, just speaking about effects is slowly getting me all excited again! Nice to meet you mandrake.

I'm also new to this site but magic has slowly but surely caught me in its addictive embrace. I'm sure that after a few days of simply reading about some magic will turn that spark into a fire that you will not be able to put out (like it or not)
