Whats the best reaction to a trick you've ever had???

Mines' has to be revolution by Kevin parker when I performed it in front of my wee bro.
He was just dumbfounded!
Anyway share your stories.

I've had quite a few "killer reactions", but one that springs to mind is Blizzard. Without fail, this classic card trick always turns an otherwise stable person into a disbelieving, dribbling wreck. Well, not quite, but almost!

Jumping Gemini and 2 Card Monte always get the best reactions.

One card never actually leaves the specs hand, they find it impossible. They're speachless with the Jumping Gemini as well. "Let me look at those cards! LET ME SEE!" Sure, after I shuffle them into the deck

best reactions? depends on the audience, i get great reactions to me "cold reading" trick (those that know me will know how hilarious this can be for magicians), for kids you can get great milege from just a backpalm, and the same can be said for dogs.

best reaction i ever got(or at least the one i enjoyed the most) was to a trick that is similar to "Hitman" just with a different ending the card "changed" in this girls hand and when she looked at it and saw it was here card she jumped back screamed and throw the card at me.

One of my strongest reacions was the only time I got the word wrong using the Outlaw Panther recently. The guy wrote 3 words, very messily aswell.. anyway after some cold reading about his love of money and status I revealed his word to be 'greed'.. it wasnt. He wrote ' Bad Breed baby '.

Apparantly its the name of his 'crew' and 'bad breed' is their own ryhming slang for 'greed' because they're proud to be chasing big money or some nonsense like that!!

Anyway.. no one knew what Bad breed stood for except them so they were all completely dumbfounded that I knew the meaning of the word they wrote

Blizzard gets some incredible reactions from laypeople, magicians get skeptical though.

I dont think people react to the cards. I think they react to the color changes. I think this may have been said before on this forum, but kids arent amazed that the regular card is now obviously gaffed, they are amazed that you managed to switch the two cards

This type of question is impotent at best in that there is no context or foundation from which to pull.

I've been on stage since the late 1960s and had many outstanding reactions as well as Standing Ovations. Then again, I am aware enough to know how one can frame an effect so as to illicit such reactions from an audience; after all, I remember when Ricky Jay devastated Doug Henning by doing a Card Trick on Doug's on network special (the reason Copperfield never allowed other magicians to be featured in his shows). Doing little other than Assembling Aces Ricky stole the limelight and public acclaim form Doug and all his big illusions.

I've had countless folks cry or become emotionally vested when I'm doing the Q&A. I've had them literally wet themselves and beg me to stop when doing my Seance shows and I've had them puking in the aisles during my bizarre/macabre programs (the extreme spillage of blood and smell of burnt human flesh tends to do that).

I'm not bragging in that I don't feel it my right to "brag" over things that have been deliberately orchestrated and choreographed for eliciting the types of reactions you are asking about. Anyone can do it IF they know how to present the piece in a way that works for them and their character and they frame things in a manner for generating the response. If you don't believe me, how many here didn't cry or come close to crying when seeing Old Yeller or ET for that matter?

The best reaction I have ever had was for Cardiographic.. I had people screaming, then clapping and cheering and "whooping" afterward. The look on the volunteer's face after I handed her the torn out sheet and let her keep it was priceless.

Another great reaction was for Angelo Carbone's Shirt Appearance called Shirt Happens.

I was in a production of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, as Oberon, and I was walking around below the stage shirtless. My co-star who is in all the scenes with me saw me and said "Put a shirt on!!!" I said I would and I ducked behind the stage for a split second. I lost the guy's attentuion, and yelled asking "Is this better?"

He turned slowly and said... "Yes..." quickly turning back again. He did a sudden double-take and started swearing and screaming!

Also, at school I did it repeatedly for a group of girls, who were eating it up. I would leave the classroom only to run back in mere seconds later to show that a shirt had appear on my body, unbder my jacket. About to do it again, one girl was ready to catch me by following me out the door. She followed me with my back turned away, thinking that she had caught me andf there was no way to get out of it. But I slowly turned back to go back to class, and to hger surprise I was now wearing a shirt, even though swhe had been following me the entire time!!!!!

BUY SHIRT HAPPENS is all I can say.... one of the best effects I know.
