IT Retractors

Postby p0et » Jul 18th, '07, 17:55

I'd love to chat with someone who has experience with these. I ran into one guy selling a pen that has a built in IT retractor for i think around $50. I've never done any magic before but this just looked great and sounded very intereseting!

They claim that you can just walk into a room and without touching the item, make it start floating and while it's floating a spectator can wave their hand above, below and completely around the floating object!

I want to buy this retractor but really don't see how their hand can go above, below and around the object if there's a thread attached to it in some way.

If you haven't done magic, don't buy it. Go buy Royal Road and Makr Wilson's Course.

magic course

They market this as an "ultimate beginners levitation device". That's why I thought I'd try it out. The magic course sounds interesting though. I'll see what it's all about.

Thanks!

Definitely check it out. Beginner's IT Source? If that uis the case, go for it. Ntohing gets a stronger reaction for a beginner than a good levitation!

Mark Wilson's Course, Tarbell Course, Royal Road To Card Magic, and Bobo's Modern Coin Magic should definitely be next on your list. They are the best sources out there.

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction. I'm having a look at those courses now.

As for the IT Rectrator and procedure... If you're wanting to float an object without touching it at all during, before or after your performance, don't you need to put wax on the thread? If so, does that mean you cannot let it float back to the owner since you'll need to wipe the wax so you're not burned?
