BBC exposes magic!

Postby DrTodd » Jul 19th, '07, 08:10

My stepson was watching the Sorcerer's Apprentice on the BBC this morning and I happened to catch a session on the levitating wand.

The programme gave full exposure of an IT system and how to use it with a bottle and your hands.

As if the BBC did not already have enough problems on its plate!

This is simply outrageous...I have a booking for a Harry Potter launch event tomorrow night. I wonder what else my audience will know??

Anyone think we should write in to complain? Or do we start eliminating material?

It's not on really when magicians have beeen able to keep schtum in the main all these years.
There was The Masked Magician some years ago, which didn't do magic a great deal of harm as it was shown on Sky One which as we all know is watched by junk food scoffing halfwits who find things like Friends funny, so it would all be forgotten the next day.

But the BBC!!!!!!

Maybe we should expose the cr*p that our licence fee money goes on in return....

Freddie! We all know Sky One is amazing! Malcolm In The Middle and all 8)

But yes, the masked magcian didn't do magic much harm. I used to watch it like religion and I would forget most of it the next day.

I hate the BBC. Such a waste of a channel! The only good they've ever done for us is Dr Who!

Channel 4 are at it too:

They showed a vanishing hank, an Axtel toy plus cups & balls on Big Brother last night. (Vanishing hank with a blantant use of TT).

However...

I'm not sure it's as much 'exposure' as Dr Todds' post!

Indeed. I am more shocked that nobody flamed me for watching Big Bro', but I assure you, it was only when a magician was mentioned!

I too am vastly ashamed at viewing last nights BB but I have a good friend who is an associate producer and she told me about the magic performance so I felt compelled to watch.
The most disturbing thing about it was he was far better than the guy I saw at a local community open day last saturday performing for crowds!

I will however pass on any filth and furious comments made here to my friends about BB and the magic last night.
