New Card Trick

Postby umop 3p!sdn » Jul 19th, '07, 12:18

Hey,

Well my family aren't the easiest people to peform magic to, they are continuosly looking for "the move" anyway I have recently baught "the royal road to card magic" and I am lookign for a trick that is quite easy, and the audience will struggle to pick up on. I know you will probably say "Learn one well" but my parents have done soem magic in the past and know the basics like key cards etc. Any help would be great! :)

Go through the Glide chapter, and then have a crack at 'Design for Laughter' - a really killer sucker-effect :D

Learn to control a partial stack through a series of seemingly innocent shuffles, get it to the top then perform Poker Player's Picnic for them. I use a stripper deck to do this so that the spectator can shuffle the deck too, and it totally kills.

agreed, it's a good combination of being stunningly simple, yet seemingly impossible. it's a nice sucker effect too which I am finding myself growing increasingly partial to

Topsy Turvy, which is the first trick taught in Royal Road, is a quick little stunner. Basically, half the deck is reversed (half face up, the other half face down). Turning the deck over a few times (making the cards "dizzy") and then using one card to 'right' all the other cards. It's quick it's easy and it can be done with a borrowed deck. Not bad!!

^ Yep I've just learned that I have trouble when you turn the pack upside down except for the bottom card wich remains facing up, because peopel can see i leave one card ebhind :? I guess I'll just keep working at it...

Anyway thanks for the help I guess going through the book, I will eventuaslly reach a level that is good enough to decieve them. :)
