9 weeks for me. You've got to love private school.

The place I work is as far from a private school as you can get. THough I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm a full time martial arts instructor, have been for a few years. I used to be in sales for to many years, got out and never looked back.

I spent last year in Australia living and training in a dojo full time, well, training 5 hours a day with maybe teaching an hour or two. Did this 6 days a week for a year and was a wonderful experience. I was very lucky to be able to do this at my age (39), not just because of the physical and mental challenges but because i've been married for 14 years (maybe that prepared me ;-) ) and I'm lucky enough to have an understanding wife!

When I started reading this thread I expected to see people with similar jobs. But now that I got to the end there is no ryhm or reason to who is attracted to magic.

Im in Highschool full time. Do I enjoy it? Yes, that is to say I enjoy school as much as one can.

I work in 2 restaurants, both part-time. In both restaurants, I'm a prep-cook, which is more or less an assistant to the chef since the sous-chef doesn't do anything. I've got to be especially careful so I don't lop off any fingers.

Also, I perform for various parties around my neighbourhood and cutting lawns.

Amazingly, I still have tons of time to practice magic. 8)

I used to enjoy the long holidays teaching in boarding schools but now 'work' even less whilst earning more as a psychotherapist & clinical hypnotist and providing a range of corporate training packages. Also spent time as a senior social worker, RAF Officer and a zoological consultant. Amazingly all of those were linked!

Other than the working pros my friends within 'magic' include students, surgeons, builders, taxi drivers, company directors, unemployed, pilots, fishermen... a really diverse bunch. All just love challenges and to some extent 'showing off'. Most are what I would describe as quite positive and intelligent people with a good sense of humour but there is no really definitive thing which all share other than various aspects of magic.

I'm actually Derren Brown, but I haven't yet told anybody because I dont want people to ask how to count buttons...you should have learnt counting when you were a couple of years old!
