well, i live in the UK and after about a month of waiting for a relative who has a costco card to take me up there, i finally went today to check out the price of their bikes. a brick cost £10.32 . considering i last spent £10 on six decks from ebay i was pretty chuffed with costco's price. bought 2 bricks.

It's the norm to use regular bikes for tricks. If you use other cards to much you get the suspicios. What I mean by that is you get: "Those cards look weird!" "I bet that's his 'special' deck!" "Nobody let him see the back of the card!" "His glasses show him the special ink on the cards that tell him what it is!". It's pretty dumb but I've actually gotten that last comment.

I like the Tally-ho decks better than standard bicycle. Atleast in my hands they felt like they were a better handling than the standard bicycle decks. The Tally-ho decks are also very subtle one way backs, P.M. if you only already have these cards and I'll tell you how the oneway principal works with them. Also check out this websight, I used to frequent the store when I lived in Kentucky which is very near to Cincinnati Ohio where Bicycle cards are manufactured. So it really comes at no suprise that this shop had lots of gimmicked bicycle cards, and bicycle packet tricks. I'm sure he used to buy in bulk direct from the Manufacturer. http://haineshoc.com/pages/hhc-main.html The websight really does this company no justice the store was one of the best if not the best in the Kentucky and Ohio areas.

This debate pops up ad nauseum. Monker - I've had some people say similar things with standard Bikes. It's not the cards - it's the spectators. Some will suspect a trick deck even if you give it away for them to keep. It's just the nature of the beast. Some people will never see your cards as "legit".

It should also be noted, Monker that bikes aren't always the "norm". Different places have different cards.

Having said that - Tally's are better quality, though I prefer Fan back to Circle back. Kenneth, have you purchased these decks? Can you confirm which back style they're offering?

I ordered them, last night (right before they closed... of course... so they couldnt get back to me the same day...) they sent me an e-mail saying they had a question to ask me before they shipped, I hope it's "What style do you want?" and not "Your credit card didnt go through, what do you want us to do?"

PS. I saw somewhere that Tallys and Bikes are the same exact quality, bust tallys are less likely to be miscut, but when their 1.50 a deck, cheaper than bikes, you'd be crazy not to get it, right?

Yes, the Tally's are less likely to be miscut (though it does happen), but they're not exactly the same. A Tally card is slightly thicker. The handling is the same (for me, anyway), but I find that Tally's last just a little bit longer than a bike.

If you have a wholesale retail number or some other such resale liscenes I'm sure you could order any of the U.S. Playing card company stock in bulk. Find a magic dealer, a game store or even a corner store who gets playing cards from them make friends and see if they will let you ordder decks in bulk. http://www.usplayingcard.com/ They also have large cards and stage sized cards if I remember correctly. I remember once when younger trying to apply for a wharehouse position for the company. =)

I have used many different cards for magic and I have never had someone suspect the cards. Thing is, Bikes aren't that popular in the UK anyways, so any pack of cards could be used.

I think Waddingtons are more popular in the UK? Not too sure...

just use any deck with blue, red, or black back, but standard front, and you are fine in the UK - hell, I mainly use Purple decks now, and all's good - it's just all in the way that you put your performance across

Yes, Bicycles are the norm in the US, but I'm not sure about the bunch of other countries, maybe Canada but I'm not sure where else.

I think because there is no normal choice of cards in the UK it allows us to use any type of cards (well apart from the Ellusionist custom ones!) without them saying ' they're not normal.' However obviously people will complain that a deck is gaffed.

Personally I like Tally Ho Circle Backs over Fan Backs, I think Fan Backs seem abit girly!
