I don't think the card effect fits. For me, it's a poor representation of trees and plants. Also, the theme of creation is somewhat contradicted when you "pluck" a leaf from the tree, which can be viewed as destruction.

For me, the card effect seems out of place. You have actual fire, you have real water - so these things visually and logically represent the themes you are creating. The Cards don't really convey the idea of trees (at the very most, they represent dead trees destroyed by man, again contradicting the creation concept).

build on the idea of the elements - Use of the dirt is something that can be strong, so keep along those lines, but have your effect be more logical.

Perhaps build on an idea of the four elements, and bringing them all together with the production of a globe being the finish? I like the idea of an assistant, so that is also something to consider.

Bouncing off Lady of Mystery's post... If you could produce a butterfly at the end, that would be incredible.
Also, cards- big no- do something with a flower, or a leaf..

Without meaning to reiterate points previously made:

1. Personally, as a science geek, I think that the big bang is a strange place to start, as the rest of the routine seems more "Biblical" in theme. I think this is one of the reasons the theme seems a little vague.

2. The card trick seems really out of place. The other props you use are "real", real water, real dirt, real fire, etc. To then put in a playing card as an analogy for a plant seems a little out of place. I quite like the idea of pulling flowers or leaves off an invisible plant, but this would need to be presented well.

3. As has been said before, think carefully about cluttering up the stage. You don't want to end up obscured by a wall of props at the end.

I respect the thought you're putting into this, and the fact that you are willing to ask for help. Remember that there's nothing wrong with going back and changing or improving an original idea, it often leads to great things.
