Magical greetings,
I'm reading this forum for some weeks now and decided to quickly introduce me.
Ok, so where to start? I'm a german guy, living in the nice town of munich and I'm in my thirties now. So, if my grammar seems to look, well, german, then you know why

I'm a complete beginner in magic but I was fascinated by card magic for a long time. Most of all I like magic with an ordinary deck and without gimmicks. This is what I like to learn thorougly, but I know this will take me a while...
As I saw Mr Derren Brown performing some of his mental magic it left me with my jaw dropped. I really want to learn more about this kind of magic, but I think it requires more time and practice than I can spend.
How did I get into magic? I don't know, as a child I think everybody loves magic. But as I got a beginners kit for birthday I was a bit dissappointed when I saw the 'tricks' in there. Bad quality, optical illusions, nothing what got me hooked.
Many years later I ordered some books on amazon when I stumbled upon a book named 'Expert Card Technique' which looked really interesting. But I stopped reading after the first few pages, I just didn't get anything working as this seemed to adress the more advanced magician and not the beginner.
Some years later I rediscovered this book on my shelf and was again interested in this matter. So I did some searching on the net and now I have RRTCM and 'The Expert at the Card Table' and making good progress. I'm really looking forward showing some tricks but I want to be 99.9% sure before I do this (good boy!).
One important point in making magic I already learned well: to never expose a trick. Look in Support & Tips to find out how...
I'm not going to be a frequent poster, but I read this forum on a regular basis. I try to stay away from the reviews as I don't want to get infected with CUPS

Enough for now, have a magical day,
MarkyMarc
