Allen Tipton is probably the best poster on here. Lots of information and no nonsense whatsoever.

Family

Postby Amanda Angeli » Jul 26th, '07, 15:01

Hello Everyone,

This entire post has been so fascinating to read. Everyone here is like a wonderful big family and it's all so neat to read about everyone. Some are uncles, some, mentors. Some are like parents, some teachers. Others, just friends. There are those we love and those who need understanding.

Being here, reading this, it's like being at a party and watching everyone. It's really very fun. Sometimes people share deep thoughts, usually merely phatic things, but basically, it's just everybody sharing in the best ways that they can.

I'm glad that this is such a loving board. There have been misunderstandings here and there as there are typically whenever people get together, and yet, you know what, the truly fascinating thing is that no matter what has happened now and again, most everyone seems to desire working things out. I think that is because this is an English site and you all are so wonderful as individuals and as a Nation. Such a board would not exist in the U.S. for there patience would not happen as easily and there'd be a lot more "physical jokes that only boys understand."

I love our group and all of you, those mentioned and those not mentioned. For each has something special and beautiful to say in their own way. And no matter who is on, we can always learn something and that is what makes a place like this so special.

As we get to know each other, our personalities begin to come out and we begin to see each other not merely as some made up name (some use real names of course) on a screen but instead as real people.

I wish that I was there with everyone right now, because in my own way, I'd give everyone a big warm hug. We are all very blessed to have our community, our friends, our family here. For this is a beautiful and unique place that the moderators have made into something very special.

My hugs especially go out to all of those who are not mentioned here. For they are the ones who make my eyes twinkle. I embrace the newbies for it is from them that our board grows in life and dreams.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

Seconded.

Superb pedigree, talks only from experience, pops up, gives 100% helpful advice without ego or prejudice, pops down again.

Golly, I.D. thank you, that was so kind of you to say, you make me blush. I just really feel blessed to be here with all of you. The Moderators have been so truly wonderful and I am so enjoying learning from everyone.

Oh, and hey thrilling news, the reason I haven't written all the much lately is that I'm working on THE Illusion of Illusions (like the big boys do). I am so excited. Now granted, I have a bit of a road ahead of me with this but I am so enjoying the process. In a nutshell, there are things to build, things to practice, physical skills to hone and perfect, and that's just the beginning. There's permits, lighting, choreography, safety, practice, practice, practice, research, music, dance, colors, scent, environment exploration, weather study, plane tickets, catering, hotel bookings, more practice, and on the list goes for hours and hours and hours every day. I just got back a bit ago from doing some field research out in the wilderness. Creating, researching, developing, and honing tricks, escapes, and Illusions is so fun. How many of you do this too? Granted, we all do it at different levels, some with cards, some with large stage Illusions, but the creative process and all that goes into it is the same. Golly we all are so blessed to be doing what we do.

Love,

Amanda Angeli

For me Mandrake is the epitome of what Talk Magic is about.

But to name anyone person is wrong. It is nice thinking of is all as a big family.

True some of us fall out sometimes and need sending to the naughty stair or being sent to bed early without tea, but on the whole I would say we are all here for each other.
