I searched and couldn't find any topics on the Bucks...

Youngest great magicians?
How old are they, they cant be older than 25, and they allready are known more to the public than seasoned magicians.
At no more than 25, they have allready released a HUGE, highly anticipated DVD, and their lecture notes go back 7 years, so.. 25 - 7... at 18 they were teaching amazing, cutting edge tricks.

so? best young magicians (Other than our friend micheal kras of course- we love you man)

They don't actually perform magic lol. They do tricks for fun themselves. They said that they don't perform themselves in their magicbroadcast radio session.

But yes, they are one (well... two) of the most creative people in magic yet. Very modern stuff! :D

But also remembering how long ago the magic broadcast radio appearance was, I think it was 2004, around the time of release of The System.

They were young when they released "Artifice Ruse and Subterfuge in the Hands", they were even younger at the time of "Pasteboard Animations", as the video shows, they are merely teenagers, and still attending high school I believe.

But I agree, I still don't feel Dan and Dave have not been recognised enough in magic, most of the older and more experienced magicians are completely oblivious to what they have made of modern magic.
I think most magicians under the impression that Dan and Dave are aimed at younger magicians (none older than 30), which is completely false.

There is a lot that can be learned from Dan and Dave, I believe there was a quote on their site a few years ago that basically said:

"For magic to continue as an artform it needs to be recreated and made what it was, a visual spectacle"

I can't quite recall what the quote was, but basically it said that magic need to be revolutionised and be remade as an artform, magicians are still performing the same tricks that have been performed for decades, even centuries, look what people's stereotypical opinion's are on magic; Rabbits, hats, and card tricks with long and unecessary patter.

Dan and Dave have created many effects, all being visual, original and mainly paced, they are not slow or boring they are fast and spontaneous.
As well as combining their magic with card flourishes, their style has recreated the way modern magicians handle a deck of cards in their normal routine, flourishes heighten and enhance the magic.

I honestly cannot think of a single soul who will look at Dan and Dave material, flourish and effect wise, and not be amazed with the sheer creativity and effectiveness of their prized material.

They have changed card magic as we know it, in 10 years time look at the amount of card magicians who will either be performing or be inspired by their magic/flourishes.

They are the future.

End of.

As much as I think Dan and Dave are great technically, the performance sections on the Trilogy DVD Disc 1 are very boring. The performance side of their magic leaves a lot to be desired, at least from what I've seen of it.

I would be inclined to agree with kitaristi0 about their performance style on the Trilogy DVD. I don't know if this is reflective of their performances in general. I very much doubt they'd be so successful if that were the case.

However, I must say that the trilogy is probably the best magic DVD I've bought in a long time. SOme Fantastic flourishes and some great quick tricks that run together nicely for routine building. There is a lot on this DVD and surprisingly almost all of it is very useable (with a fair amount of practice)
