I just spent a VERY long time typing my first review on a new dvd called 'Link by Nabil Murday' when I clicked 'Submit' it took me back to the log in page and would not log me in! I had to close the window and re-open internet explorer and talkmagic in order to log in and type this! Not happy

I would recommend typing your review in word or something along those lines to check spelling etc and put it on autosave so you always have a copy on your computer

If the problem persists (e.g you keep getting kicked out of the forum) I wouldn't know what to suggest to be honest?!

Definitely compose all posts elsewhere first and run the spellchecker just to be on the safe side, I find that if you have to do it all over again, it's never the same as the original one for some reason. I use Outlook as though it's a new e-mail and that works well as I use it a lot at work and doesn’t mean opening Word or something which I'm not always using. I've had problems with TM this week, everything freezing and only going back to the log in page, it's &*%$@# annoying!

I always compose mine in Word first

It's happened to me a couple of times when reviewing too (and, as most of you guys know, I tend to waffle on some ), and it's really disheartening to see several hundred words disappear into cyberspace, never to be seen again

These days, I ALWAYS highlight and copy any entry, before clicking on the submit button, just to be on the safe-side.

That said, for reviews etc. that I know are going to be quite long-winded, I'll use Word - primarily to ensure spelling's kept as tight as possible

Wasn't it (the page) cached? Whenever that happens to me I just hit the "back" button and usually there it is, ready for a second attempt.

Sadly, this doesn't work always on a TM timeout - as soon as you hit submit (and you'll notice this, even with successfully enetered posts), and then hit back, all you're frequently greeted with is a 'Page has timed-out', which can't be refreshed, or re-submitted

When submitting a lengthy post, I always type it in Notepad first. Then I just copy and paste the whole lot. I'm paranoid about getting timed out or something else going wrong and losing it all.

Thanks for the advice fellas, I logged off and calmed down, I will attempt to write the review again (IN WORD) and post it as I think it deserves a review. Well I guess I know better now, once bitten as they say. Good idea to use spell checker as well, despite working in education for 4 years my spelling is still terrible!
I'm still not over the moon but heres an attempt at a smile for all the camaraderie

Another handy tip when posting a long 'un, if you don't want to use an external word processor, is to just keep hitting 'ctrl-a' then 'ctrl-c' every now and then (Cmd-A, Cmd-C for Macheads).

This copies your post to the clipboard, and should the worst happen, such as your browser crashes etc. you can carry on from the last point you copied. A bit like doing a save every few moments.

Quite often when posting on TM, I am working in about 3 applications too, or taking calls, etc. and quite often I have inadvertantly killed the window in which I was typing. Major bummer. Unlike Word etc., your web browser won't prompt you to save before leaving the window.

Thanks Seige, I actually managed to post the review after re typing in word. A much easier way to post anything of length I agree. It is not as good as my first attempt but I hope it is concise enough.

Thank goodnes it's not only me. I typed out facts & sources on The Dancing Handkerchief last week and lost it after clicking on submit only to find myself having to re-log in and losing the posting.
It's cheered me up to know I could still be a Tech Guy.
