Greetings from sunny dorset

Postby Major Tom » Aug 1st, '07, 22:54

I've recently decided to start trying magic living in rural england and their not being much to do not being the sporting type. To be honest I started by reading an X-men comic and looking at gambit thinking it would be cool to learn to throw cards and before long I was learning some basic card tricks and I've just sort of carried on learning more

I've mainly been focussing on basic card effects and routines, I've got an ambitious card routine pretty sold now and a few self working and some what I think are quite good tricks fairly good. I'm currently working on some colour changes using shape shifter to reveal a persons card selection. I also spend quite alot of time on the internet being quite isolated here in my free time so I thought it might be nice to talk to some more experienced magicians and hopefully learn how the trade operates and get some good tips whilst sharing my marvellous wit.

Welcome Major Tom

Where about are you in sunny dorset? Are you on this side of the water or over on the Weymouth side?

I'm over by Dorchester in a large'ish village, it's not the most interesting place to be but it's all right I guess.

Don't really go to Bournemouth much except for gigs as its the only place near enough to get there in one night although now I can drive soon I may head over there more often.

Dorchester, I know that area of the world well. I've done quite a bit of sailing and windsurfing at Portland and Dave's done loads of cycle racing from Weymouth and Sherbourne.

Lovely area.

Strictly speaking I would say that he isn't a fan at all, in fact I would go further than that (now theres a trick) and say he is the Dr's arch enemy....

No way... TM are really honoured!

That means we have both members of the Dr Who fanclub as TM members!

(Only kidding... but Dr Who went downhill for me after Tom Baker and his technicolour dream-scarf hung up his sonic screwdriver)

Welcome to TM!

Just ignore me. I'm the bear with a permanently sore head.
