I had to laugh..

Postby Carl Buck » Aug 2nd, '07, 13:40

I've just taken a couple of clients out for lunch. While waiting for the food one of the guys said " are you still doing magic? show us something! " So I borrowed a £5 note and showed them the Kozlowski bill switch.

They loved it, and another one of the blokes said " That was brilliant! I used to do magic years ago, but only things like using those stupid plastic TT's, nothing like that.. "

Yup, it's definitely not what you have, it's how you use it that matters most.

Brilliant. :D
And it just shows that exposure doesn't really mean much to a layperson.

I bet when your friend talked about the tt, you had a nervous laugh and nervously tried to hide your thumb!

I probably would've laughed and told the guy the switch I did was much more difficult than a mere TT effect.

The question is, if he had said what he said before you did your bit. Would you still have done it?

Fay Presto tells a similar story to that.

She uses a TT extensively in one point of her routine. She was just about to start this when one guy said "my uncle used to do magic, he had one of those fake thumb things"

Fay's answer was "Oh them, they're just for beginners. I never use them. She then went on to do her routine exactly as she always has to thunderous applause.
