Shigeo Takagi Back in print!

Postby philipsw » Aug 2nd, '07, 21:58

I'm so happy! This is probably the best magic book I've ever had the pleasure of reading. I borrowed a friend's copy some years ago and have been trying to get one since then - and it is now back in print! Hurrah. I just wanted to share that joy :-)

Is that the Richard Kaufman book? How much are you selling it for? I couldn't find it on your website.

I don't ever seem to be able to find anything that I'm looking for on Mike's site...I just end up browsing through reams of massively-long pages for hours, and not getting anywhere :(

Mike - don't you have some kind of search function?

The Price is £29.99 Post Free! (Royal Mail!)

Or £32.00 by courier (next day delivery, but not Sat)

Or spend £50.00 or more, & any amount of items will be delivered by Courier, & I will pay the delivery charge!

Regarding your not being able to find it on the website, I stock in my "Proper Brick & Mortar Shop" 1000's of items (you wouldn't believe unless you came to see!) & most items are NOT on the website!!!

I simply do not have the time to put every single item on!

I often have the latest items BEFORE anyone else, just email or phone & ASK me! I am here from 8am in the morning, & close at 7pm in the evening! I do mail order in the afternoons, so close at 1pm & reopen at 5pm, if I'm not out, I will still answer the phone in the afternoons, I will only not be here for a short while. I even answer emails when I am on holiday!!

I'm sorry you are having problems with my site, there is a search & it does state it. When you go into any shop category above the boxes with the items there is a line that reads :

Search for any text on this page, hold the "Ctrl" key down and then press the "F" key.

The quickest way to search though would be to open up the PRICELIST, & then do the search from there, because this will search ALL the categories at the same time. I know it's not the best search facility in the world, & you may find it easier to just EMAIL ME!

I run the business on my own, really do offer the best service, & in the main I am an actual Brick & Mortar walk in shop, with a small internet presence.

Best wishes

Thanks for that Mike - I had actually been driven to use the 'Find on This Page' a couple of times, and I realise it can't be easy keeping everything bang up to date, on the technological side, when you have a bricks and mortar business to run as well.

Perhaps it might be worth you while considering something like this for your site:

http://www.picosearch.com/index.html

From what I can see, it's very quick and easy to impliment, and would mean that customers could search your entire site, right from the home page, without having to navigate to any other category.

All the best,

Rob

Thanks ever so much for that Rob, I will look into that option, so "Watch this space as it were!"

I would like to point out, that it's only been about a year now, that I've been uploading the website myself, & I NEVER thought I'd be able to do it!

Until I started the business, (six years ago) I had never even touched a computer! If it hadn't been for two people, Roger & his Brother In Law Nigel, I would not be doing what I am currently doing regarding the website! Improvements are actually being made all the time, but unless you visit regularly, you probably wouldn't notice.

If I have some important news or a GREAT NEW PRODUCT, it will go on the website IMMEDIATELY, either in the NEWS PAGE, or JUST IN if it's a new product, (Sometimes BOTH!).

When Tiscali (the internet provider) got hacked into recently, & 1000's of emails were lost in a "Black Hole" I actually ran daily bulletins on my newspage, (because I was unable to send & receive emails for a while, but I WAS able to upload information to the website, & more importantly communicate with my customers!!)

I'm sure that my customers appreciate the kind of service that I offer, & as I say, improvements to the website are being made all the time.

All good wishes & thanks again for the information.

I haven't heard of this book. Maybe I'm too young  . What kind of effects does it contain? Cards? Coins? Ropes? Mentalism?

Details are now on my website. You will find it in JUST IN & also in BOOKS (well there's a surprise!!)

I think at one time the first editions were fetching huge amounts of money on Ebay! It has just been republished.

All good wishes

I would have to say that I use Mikes web site and there have been some problems with the server but you can email him or phone him and he always replies. His service is first class and delivery is usually the next day. When The Royal Mail is not taking strike action.

I am able to find new stuff in the "just in" section and use the other sections as needed.

I just wanted to say that I have found Mike incredibly swift and helpful in answer to my email enquiries (even suggesting another dealer I might get something from when he didn't have it in stock and I needed it quickly) and also on the occasion I visited his shop.

But the original post was about the book! Which remains excellent...
