Telling Tales - Luke Jermay

Postby Beardy » Aug 10th, '07, 00:30

Right. Luke Jermay's limited edition manuscript...only 200 to be released...

it *looks* amazing

I haven't read it yet, but now I have secured my copy, I think I'll send it out to you guys ;)

http://www.alakazam-usa.com/acatalog/Downloads.html

I have read a review of it also...and it just seems really good

I'm not saying it *is* - im just saying it could be worth the money, then again it may not.

But with only 200 available, it may be hazardous to wait for a review from myself

Thought I would just let you guys know

because I'm cool like that

From the descriptions and what others have said this is for those who perform professionally; to make an impression on your clients/the newspaper reporter/whoever.

So if you're not a regular working professional it may be worth leaving it for those who are.

I agree. I tend to get CUPS quite badly for any mentalism effects, but this one isn't for me. I don't feel I'd get any use out of the items and they don't sound like the sort of material that is 'me'. In fact, it doesn't sound like these effects would suit many people.

Is the Wolf Messing-Derren Brown-paying-for-goods-with-fake-money-effect seemingly included in this available elsewhere?

If not I'm going to have to purchase this!

 How did I miss that!

One of those days I guess...

But yes - I'm sure it is described elsewhere. I may be wrong... I will have a rummage about and if I come across it let you know.

Arrived today and just had a read...very nice manuscript methinks ;)

Very easy to do, and certainly something I can see myself performing in the future!

I read a very negative review of this at another forum so I'm interested to hear your thoughts on it.

I was admittedly slightly disappointed with it, but the effects do serve their purpose: to make you a legend. They're not designed to be aired, or even to be shown to large groups of people. Instead, they're designed to give people a hook for them to build their own story around what happened. You can quickly be known as a "master of persuasion" who can pay for lunch with a stack of fake money...

The methods are embarrasingly simple, but they serve their purpose.

Ciao,
Rob
