Derren Brown Effect

Postby Beardy » Aug 14th, '07, 00:30

There was an effect he performed...a card effect...I believe it was to johnathon Ross, though I can't remember for certain.

He got him and his missus to shuffle a deck under a table, take a card out, reverse and replace, and shuffle, before revealing that both cards were the same.

I know the card was a mental force when she decided it...but I don't know how he managed to get both to pick them (without using a one way deck ;))

is this available anywhere, does anybody know?

Love

There's a little bit of a discussion about this one here:

Though if I remember rightly the trick was thought to be a Derren Brown original. A few people did have the odd idea, mind.

I saw Tony Binarreli (sp) perform a very similar effect on his recent lecture tour, although he didn't have a card thought of before the effect, but had 2 turned over and replaced in 2 shuffled decks under the table.

As you say Derren Brown uses a psychological force to begin with, and one way to achieve the rest is by using r**** f**** cards, except the card you want to force. Have them take a card out under the table, turn it over and replace it before bringing the deck back onto the table.

[Mods - hope this doesn't class as exposure? If it does please delete  ]

This product is almost similar and in my opinion is stronger than Derren Brown's version.

Have fun. =D
