Tribute to Dai Vernon - a video to inspire you all

Postby stevebo » Aug 16th, '07, 21:58

I found this video on YouTube and it has really inspired me. Dai Vernon was an amazing magician and truly one of the best, if not the best, magicians who has ever lived. r.i.p.

wow - didnt realise he was that old when he died...and to STILL be able to perform even half of the sleights he did shows that magic is REALLY good for the joints and stuff :)

I loved the card production, even though he showed 2 empty hands, was very smooth

A true master of the art, what it must have been like to know the man and experience the years of dedication delivered in a performance sat opposite a table to him.

He would be one of the people sat around my table for dinner with figures of history for sure.

Watching this video, I realise how much more powerful Vernon's original Triumph is compared to the many modernised versions of it!

I think we all owe something special to this great magician. Perform his effects and keep his memory alive (though I don't think his name will EVER be lost among magicians).

R.I.P.
