Weirdest Comments/Moments

Postby Kemo » Aug 13th, '07, 04:18

I get some weird comments doin magic. Sometimes its just because they are "amazed" by the trick, like once some girl told me to take off my shirt, because she thought the card was under it. But the really weird part was a guy behind me told me to do it as well.

Another weird on was this one girl wanted to know how i did one of my tricks so she offered to make out with me if i taught her one.

I also have one weird story that would have to be censored if i wrote it so ill just tease you guys with that, but i think it was because the lady was drunk.

So what have been your weirdest moments?

I had a strange one on Saturday in Manchester. I did Lawrence's gorgeously lovely and utterly visual Oracle Deck for a friend. I showed the faces, I explained that I wanted him to stop me slowly pushing off cards when it felt "right". I extracted the card he stopped me on, placed it face up on his palm, showed the backs of the deck and explained that I'm using a red deck because black marker shows up on them, but that there's nothing on these backs safe for one. I skipped a few beats waiting for the penny to drop. It didn't, so I asked him to turn his card over and read the back. He just said "So?". It took two other incredulous mates a few minutes to explain to him what had just happened.

By the way, he's a bank manager!

That's another coke (not allowed to LEGALLY drink alcohol for another 2 years yet) spilt all over my keyboard...

I don't really have any strange reactions, but when I performed designed for laughter for a group of friends in the local youth club tonight, I had to stop one of them trying to rip up one of the cards because he was convinced that a card was hidden inside it. I also had someone checking the thickness of the aces in the pack of cards compared to the other cards once I had cut them seperately from random points in the deck... (different person, same group, same youth club).

I work at a summer camp so I decided to show some of the kids some magic. While performing hit and run the kid asked me why I kept showing him the cards, he already said his was not in the pile (he's 10). His face melted off when I finished...

Weirdest reactions? Tears, screaming, laughter, talking to people's dead relatives, Victorian spectres manifesting themselves (not a pretty sight), grown men lost for words, more tears, and one memorable fainting incident.

What a Saturday night that was.
