I understand from Mike Danata that he's only going to be offering the cut-price subscriptions for the next few weeks.

If you want to grab a bargain year's worth of quality stuff, get in there quick!

That's right, I've just spoken to him and he said this offer will last until mid-September. After that, the price will go up. But he did say that anyone who takes a subscription out with him now will be "looked after" when the inevitable price rise occurs; he will ensure we all still get the best deal on this. Very nice guy, too. (Mike, if you're reading this, thanks for calling back to confirm my name - most people would have guessed and got it wrong!)

It's a great DVD with a few nice effects taught and lots of reviews and insights. It also has its fair share of penguin marketted effects but I guess you can fast forward those.

Mikes service is first rate as well, a true gent and a pleasure to deal with

I agree on all counts. The bill switch by Lovitt was very good and I will use it. Yes, alot of Penquien Magic but, the demos were done very well. The self tying shoelaces looked great as well as the demos of the bill switch done on the street. Paul Potasy is a first rate magician. I saw his videos and his timeing, misdirection, comedy and use of audience make his show top notch. Of course, the Paul Harris interview was exactly what I hoped it to be. His thoughts on performing and his approach to magic is benificial to all magicians. Paul is a master and this is what I have come to expect from him. I would rate this video a 9/10. I hope the next one will be just as good.
Regards
Al

I watched my copy yesterday and Reel-y (sorry) enjoyed it. Superb value for money and very well produced. Can't wait for the next episode.

Looks like George McBride's Bar Room Blues trick is explained in the second episode. Quite surprising, considering BBM have just released his DVD. Unless it's performance only?

Received this yesterday (for free from magicmagic!) and was very impressed. If there was a satellite channel for magicians, this is what it would be like.
Paul Potassy is excellent and after watching these clips, I'm now awfully tempted to invest in his DVD's. The interview with Harry Lorayne is excellent and I found David Regal very funny!

Anyone know if the second episode is out yet? I've got a subscription from Mike Danata.

is reel magic out yet?

Postby kozmo » Sep 29th, '07, 15:19

NO! but it will be soon...its at the replicator and has a rush on it SO they will be shipped from the replicator next week and everyone should start to see them the following week....

i think this one is better than the first...we added some really good stuff and added another key interview...this time with kevin james PLUS the addition of simon lovell and jon armstrong will I'm sure be well received...

in addition theres 3 tricks and always will be at least 3 effects performed and explained..this time around its geoff williams "ready to link" which is a rubber band get ready move thats invisible and if you work with rubberbands you WILL use this...joel givin explains his ninja coin routine which is just killer and the big blind medias new artist george mcbride and george performs "bar room blues" great color changing deck...if you guys haven't noticed big blind media is doing some GREAT work over there in the UK...

so over all i think that this is going to be an upgrade, a lot of time in improving the authoring on the disk and over 2 hours of magic for $10 COME ON! best value in magic

thanks

I shall definitley be buying the second issue, in fact I'm considering a subscription if I start to find it hard to get hold. Great stuff!

Lord Freddie, you should definitely get a sub to this. As far as I am concerned, episode one has set the standard and if future issues can maintain the quality of material that was present in no.1, then we are in for a treat. And as for the price - I'm paying £5 per issue at the moment - you can't argue with that. Must be bargain of the year. I would happily pay twice that amount.

Where did you subscribe from? I don't fancy subscribing direct to the US as they don't have the decency to put the price in good old British money and I can't be bothered to work it out.
I ordered something from Japan recently and their website actually converted theprice to whatever currency you want. Proper Japanese efficiancy.
