I wouldn't organise much quite yet. I have been on the Battersea Barge website and the Dirty Secrets Myspace and haven't found any info at all about it playing out in September. Actually neither of them mentions august either for that matter

Three things

1. Does anyone mind me tagging along with them. I will buy you a pint as I'll be on my billy if I come (100% going if I can meet some one there, 0% if going on my todd)

2. Do you have to book tickets in advance or will you get in on the night?

3. Can you walk it from Vauxhall Tube/Train Station

Cheers in advance

1) Would love to but am going with a couple of mates and it is the last time I will see them properly before I move several hundred miles away. Be sure to say hello if you see me though

2) You will probably get in on the night, but it is better to book in advance. You don't pay until you go in, but if you go to www.batterseabarge.com you can book there, and its as simple as putting in your name, e-mail and telephone number

3) It is a 10 minute walk max from vauxhall tube station:

as you are walking down the road, there is a sign on the right hand side that leads down what looks like (and in reality, is) a small alley, and here you shall find the majestic battersea barge

Well I've booked my train tickets, there is some great deals at the moment. I'm getting to London from Manchester for £3 and getting the expensive £9 ticket back

Not a real loss if I end up cancelling.... Now to book that barge ticket

Well ok, worth a last shot, I'd arranged for someone else to join me on this night but their reason for being in London has just been cancelled this morning.

So anyone will to have a tag along? I can be decent company - personable, clean, have my own accommodation etc.... if not then maybe the next time I'll see you guys there

what can I say? excellent magic, excelent comedy, excellent acts, excellent booze. Pretty much an all round excellent night, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, laughing so hard the tears came out. and I also believe I spotted a certain famous magicion/mentalist in the crowd.

I'd say more but it's my leaving drinks at work in a bit so I'm off to get a little bit tiddly again :)

Yes it's true I was there....I presume you meant me???

Anyway a pretty good night although was disappointed with one or two acts.
Well I say disappointed but the female comedian was pretty rubbish and the physical comdian guy was perhaps one of the worst acts I've ever seen on a stage. Lady Carol was bloody amazing as were Barry and Stuart. Pete Firman was hit and miss although mostly hit.
All in all though a pretty good magic night (my first) and would certainly go again as long as I didn't have to sit through that physical comedian again as I might have to swallow my tongue. This was the consensus of the 8 people at my table so I'm not just being a grumpy git

The physical comedian, toby caldwell I think, was slightly hit and miss, and a lot of his stuff was just "let me do something from a film but in a different accent" I did like his werewolf karate though

I enjoyed this night as well, a mix bag of entertainment. The singer had a fantastic voice and could probably have milked it a bit more at the end of each song.

I turned up on my own and got chatting to some randon stranger into mentalism who was very friendly so turned out well in the end.

I'll come down for the next night as well, a bargain at £7 for a ticket. A very cosy venue too, I didn't realise that it'd be so small
