Ahh, now you've moved the goalposts!
The Naked Book Test is excellent. Tomo's book has a couple of big advantages over the Brook Test. The first is a discussion of various 'naked' concepts for mentalism. Very interesting stuff, and I loved it. Then there's the book test itself. The main advantage being that it can be done remotely. No prep work, no cheats, no real restrictions on what the spectator reads and you don't even need to know the book or magazine, let alone have a copy!
The downside is that it might be ever so slightly little less reliable than the Brook Test, but I'm not sure there's much in it. I can't really say which is better from that point of view, and I might be wrong in my instinct. The other thing is that, in one way, the Brook Test could come across as a little more interesting. You should, of course, always build up an effect, and I do not, in any way, think the NBT is a weak effect. Quite the opposite.
I can't really say more than that, without tipping methods.
I think the NBT has the edge on the Brook Test, but both are fine products and I am not only pleased to own both, but happy to have plumped up the coffers of the authors!
But...if you're interested in impromptu book tests, have you thought about Marc Paul's AAA Book Test?
